Fall Wedding Invitation Set

I recently completed a fall themed wedding invitation set for a bride I met at the Lenexa bridal show.  I think the set turned out really nicely and she was very excited when she saw them!

It's Out, it's Out!!!

It's finally out....KC Weddings Fall/Winter issue hit stores today, and some of my work has been featured on 2 pages!!  I am over the moon about it and so thankful to my bride, Mindy, one for hiring me and two for being so diligent about my items being in the issue!  It's really an amazing feeling to have some one believe in you so much and love your work!

Unexpected Surprise

My husband brought in the mail tonight and handed me one of the best surprises I have ever gotten!  It was a thank you note from a bride who's wedding invitations I just completed!!

I have never had anyone HAND write me a thank you note for an order that I did for them.  I mean, I've gotten quick emails and nice feedback through etsy, but never a hand written note!  It just makes up for all those problem orders or difficult people that come around every blue moon.

Anyways, she really made my day today and made me realize that I love making invitations for a reason!

Lenexa Bridal Show

The Lenexa Bridal Show was today and it was a great show!  It was the first time I have ever participated as a vendor in a show like this and it was a really great experience.  I hope to get lots of sales from participating, I'll let you know how it goes!

Here's a couple of pictures of my table, they aren't the best since I took them with my phone.  :(

Save The Date

I actually designed this save the date postcard for my wedding, but recently had an order to customize it in blue and yellow.  I LOVE how it turned out and I think I'll have to add it to sell in my etsy store!  I sure hope that my customer loves it as much as I do!

Candy Buffet

I finally have some better pictures of the candy buffet I set up for my sister in law's wedding!  I wish the photographer had taken some pictures of the buffet as a whole, but alas, she did not.  These are definitely better than the pictures I took with my iPhone and posted here.  :)

Another Beautiful Wedding!

I have been working with a co-worker on her wedding and posted her save the date postcard that I made, as well as her invitation set.  Well, I also made her a wedding tree guestbook.  Her photographer added a few pictures to her website and mentioned my wedding tree on her blog!  Check it out: http://heatherbrulez.com/blog/2011/11/boulevard-brewing-company-wedding-mindy-jim/

Below are a few pictures the photographer took of the wedding tree, it looks like it was beautiful day for Mindy and Jim!

The Wedding Tree

Wedding season is in full swing and sales of my wedding tree in my esty store have been great this year!  If you know someone getting married, you should tell them this about this unique way to create a guestbook.(And it makes great artwork for the home after the wedding!)  It's also a great gift for that close friend or relative for their wedding, just make sure to coordinate it with them in advance!

Here's a photo of my wedding tree from our wedding last September:

The Candy Buffet.....the newest Wedding Trend

My sister in law got married a few weeks ago and my mother in law asked me to set up the candy buffet for her.  I gladly accepted as I wanted one at my wedding last year but couldn't find a way to pull it off.

So, I took what all she had bought and ran with it!  I found small white paper bags and made cute labels with the bride/groom name, wedding date and the phrase "Love is Sweet."  I coordinated all the candy labels and tied everything up with different kinds of black and white ribbons.

I was really excited with how it turned out and so was everyone else!  My mother in law has been getting calls about it ever since!  This may lead to a new endeavor for me....I may start up a small candy buffet renting business.  (Lots to think about there!)

Here's a few pictures I took really quickly with my phone, they are pretty terrible.  I hope the photographer has some better ones!

Have you been to a wedding with a candy buffet?  Did you think it was a cute idea?  What would you do differently?

Stepped off the face of the Earth

So....I did it again and stepped off the face of the earth and ignored my blog for another week!  We sold our duplex and have been looking for a new house and it has been consuming my life!  It's very exciting and we are very happy.....but I am a worrier.  I worry about the duplex appraising and the inspection, etc.  Hopefully, it will all go off without a hitch!

I have been working on a new invitation set for an Etsy customer, Danae.  She liked one of my invites and wanted to expand on it a little.  Here's what I came up with for her.

Vintage turned Modern

I was recently hired by a co-worker to make her save the date postcards.  She loved the vintage postcard idea and was really inspired by this Kansas City card.

She asked for me to use this idea, but make it more modern and fresh, here's what I came up with and she was elated!

Cutomized Wedding Gift

I know I have been terrible about blogging lately!  Things have been crazy busy at work and CCO, my Etsy store has taken off this wedding season! I have had a lot of invitation orders and it's been AWESOME!!

I have also been working on my collage art a lot lately and trying to come up with fun new concepts....I'm going to have a show at a local gallery this summer sometime!!  We are still working out the details and of course, I need time to make more great art...but I'll let you know once I have all the details ironed out.

This is one of my newest creations, a personlized piece that would be great for a wedding or anniversary gift!  I also sell these at CCO, my esty store.

Invitation Bliss

I'm currently working on another wedding invitation set for my friend Eva's sister.  She actually picked out a save the date card I created and wanted to use that as inspiration for her wedding invitation and RSVP card.  I was more than happy to take on the challenge and think they turned out really nice!  I'm planning on posting these up for sale on my esty site.
