Sweet find turned LOVE!

So, it seems like forever ago I posted this blog about my sweet find at my local Goodwill store.  It was this dresser, it was rundown and gross....but I could see the potential!

Well, with a LOT of help from my amazing husband it is finally refinished and placed into it's new home in our house!  After a lot of Pinterest searching, I decided I wanted to go 2 tone with it.  I think it turned out totally AMAZING and I am so happy with it!!

I can hardly believe it's been a year ago tomorrow that I married the love of my life!

 

 

The Candy Buffet.....the newest Wedding Trend

My sister in law got married a few weeks ago and my mother in law asked me to set up the candy buffet for her.  I gladly accepted as I wanted one at my wedding last year but couldn't find a way to pull it off.

So, I took what all she had bought and ran with it!  I found small white paper bags and made cute labels with the bride/groom name, wedding date and the phrase "Love is Sweet."  I coordinated all the candy labels and tied everything up with different kinds of black and white ribbons.

I was really excited with how it turned out and so was everyone else!  My mother in law has been getting calls about it ever since!  This may lead to a new endeavor for me....I may start up a small candy buffet renting business.  (Lots to think about there!)

How To Give Your Photos a Cool Retro Analog Effect

Before I was getting married I did tons of research on wedding photography.  I found tons of really cool effects and things to do with wedding photos.  So far, this tutorial has been a favorite of mine....How to Give Your Photos a Cool Retro Analog Effect.  Since I didn't take a snow day from work today, I feel like being a little lazy...I mean, I'm here right?!  I only have 1 file here with me, so something with more detail would probably look a lot cooler, but I think this turned out pretty sweet!

I just love the old feeling it gives to the photos, I want them to look really unique.  Anyways, my plan is to use this effect on a few of our wedding photos to make a nice collection to frame.  Another thought that keeps streaming through my head is to scour thrift stores for really cool old frames to use!  I already found one and I'm trying to decide if I should spray paint it or not.  Decisions, Decisions!

My Valentine

I found a cute Valentine's Day card and it reminded me of a wedding photo of Brandon and I.  So, I decided to use it as inspiration to make my Valentine a personal card this year.  What do you think?

Growth Chart

It's been 3.5 weeks since we got Scout and it feels like so much longer!  She is growing like a weed and playing her heart out.  The snow has sort of grounded our potty training and making life a lot harder in that area.  I'd love to put diapers on her! haha! 

Here's her 9 week picture. I think she's 9 inches tall this week, she's just ducking her head a little in the picture.  I'm also including some adorable pictures of her, because well, she's my new love.  I just adore her!

Here Comes the Bride

I have been working on wedding invitations for my sister in law, Jenny, for the past couple of weeks.  It has been a lot of fun and I think I came up with a few really good options for her.  She wanted them to be black and white and have roses on them...easy enough!  I came up with some really cool freehand rose drawings that I just fell in love with(as you can see by the options below!).  But, I also felt like I should show her another option just in case she didn't love them as much as I do.

I just love having the creative freedom to do whatever my heart desires!  And seeing my work as a finished product really makes me smile....I sure hope it makes the bride smile and all of the guests who receive it!  Without further ado, here are a few of her options:

8 Weeks Old!

Scout Dean

I have been a terrible blogger lately!!  I have been so busy and can barely find time to do anything!  It's just been crazy with work and the holidays!  One fun fact:  we got a new puppy!!  Her name is Scout and she is the cutest French Bulldog known to man!  Here's her 7 week old picture, I'm so excited to see how much she grows every week!

Feeling Royal?

My love and I have decided to dress up as Margot and Richie Tennenbaum this Halloween.  Of course, we decide this 4 days before the party we are going to on Saturday night!  We're gonna get started collecting items at Goodwill tonight....I'm pretty excited!

Fun.

I'm going to see the band Fun. play tonight at the Bottleneck in Lawrence!!  I'm pretty excited, I think it will be a rad show....I fell in love with them back when they were The Format, now they are just Fun.  Brandon and I danced to a Fun song for our first dance as a married couple 6 weeks ago and now we'll get to enjoy them live!

So I have been blogging about my upcoming wedding on my blog: OMG, We're Getting Married when I realized that I have so many crazy thoughts running through my head everyday that I want to share!  Usually they are meaningless and funny-stupid, none the less, have nothing to do with my wedding or preparing for it. So, I just decided to launch myself a whole new blog!  This title goes out to my pops, go ahead, pour a little of your 40 out for him.  He loves gravy and always wants to know where the dessert is located. Thus, Chocolate Gravy:
