It's Out, it's Out!!!

It's finally out....KC Weddings Fall/Winter issue hit stores today, and some of my work has been featured on 2 pages!!  I am over the moon about it and so thankful to my bride, Mindy, one for hiring me and two for being so diligent about my items being in the issue!  It's really an amazing feeling to have some one believe in you so much and love your work!

Lucy's Cottage

I'm so excited to tell you all about my mom's new etsy shop, Lucy's Cottage!

She is making the cutest and softest fleece baby and toddler blankets you have ever seen!  They are sewn with love and then hand appliquéd and embroidered.  And they are totally customizable per your specifications...which is even better!  They make great baby shower gifts(yes I have given a few out) or they are perfect for decorating your own baby's room!

She lists the fabric colors she has to offer and there are a variety of adorable hand appliquéd animals you can choose from to decorate your blanket.  Here are a couple of pictures of my favorites:

Lucky Monkey

I collaborated with my mom on a baby shower gift for our friends that are having a sweet baby boy soon.  My mom makes these really cute baby blankets with different animals on them, we had her make a monkey for this gift.  Once she was done, I created a custom monkey print to go along with the blanket.  I think it turned out really cute and I think we may start selling them as a set!

Happy Holidays

Hello Everyone, I'm still here!  Sorry it has been so long since I have posted....things have just been so crazy lately between work, family and the holidays!  We had a wonderful Christmas and everyone got everything they wanted and more!  We are still celebrating with my family on the 30th and I'm really looking forward to it....I just love being around my family, we have so much fun and we are all equally crazy!  I also have off of work until January 3rd and that is MUCH needed, I'm going crazy at work lately.

I'm looking forward to a new year to come as I'm sure many of you are.  This has been a tough year for me, seems there is always something not going as I have it planned in my head.  I also just lost my sweet doggie Mugsley on Dec 21st.  It was completely unexpected and it was a rough couple of days. But, he lived a long full life of 11.5 years and I can only be thankful for that.

I do have lots of exciting new projects to share with all of you!  My bedroom re-do is nearly complete!! My dad and Brandon hung the new glossy yellow barn door on Christmas Eve, now all I have left is to paint an ombre picture for over the bed.  I'll have pictures posted within the week, I promise!  We also just got our new kitchen island this evening, so I'll have pictures of the kitchen re-do in the next few days as well.

It was a Success!

The trunk show last Friday night was a great success!  I had lots of friends and family show up to support me, it was awesome!  Here's a few pictures:

Ohhh, the memories

While doing my daily Internet surfing, ya know instead of working, I came across this sweet MASH Pad!  I was so excited when I saw it, all the childhood memories of playing MASH came sweeping over me.  My friends and I used to spend hours upon hours entertaining ourselves with this game...predicting who we would marry and what kind of house we would live in.  Do kids even play with paper and pens anymore?!!  Anyone want to come over and play...

A good friend of mine just so happens to know how crazy I am for Star Wars, especially Yoda, and she brought these absolutely amazing cookie cutters to my attention.  They are at Williams-Sonoma, $19.95 a set.....I sure hope they come out with a second edition with R2-D2, Chewbacca, etc.  But this set with Yoda has captured my heart.  Anyone looking for a great wedding gift to buy me???  Uhhhh, I mean...Brandon and I??  Hint, Hint!!
