Steady Progress

Since moving into the new house we are trying to make a little progress on a few rooms.  This past week and weekend we tackled the family room.  I painted one accent wall a beautiful terra cotta color to match the pillows on our new couch.  Then, Sunday I had to work all day so my wonderful husband painted the shelves beside our fireplace.  I think the results of the new room are amazing!!  We still plan on painting the other 2 walls in the room white, but here's what we have accomplished so far!

The Candy Buffet.....the newest Wedding Trend

My sister in law got married a few weeks ago and my mother in law asked me to set up the candy buffet for her.  I gladly accepted as I wanted one at my wedding last year but couldn't find a way to pull it off.

So, I took what all she had bought and ran with it!  I found small white paper bags and made cute labels with the bride/groom name, wedding date and the phrase "Love is Sweet."  I coordinated all the candy labels and tied everything up with different kinds of black and white ribbons.

I was really excited with how it turned out and so was everyone else!  My mother in law has been getting calls about it ever since!  This may lead to a new endeavor for me....I may start up a small candy buffet renting business.  (Lots to think about there!)

Done Moving

I'm finally done moving and can get back to my normal life...yeah!!  I'll start posting some pictures of my latest projects, trust me there are plenty to work on around the new house!  I spent the last 2 days painting and I am EXHAUSTED!  It's back to work for me tomorrow, can't say I'm looking forward to getting back to work...but I am looking forward to less manual labor!

Sweet Find

I've been getting ready for our big move this week and spent a whole afternoon cleaning out my closets!  I complied 4 huge trash bags worth of clothes to drop off at Goodwill last weekend.  Well, I went to drop them off and thought, I should go in and see if they have anything good I could get cheap and re-purpose.  So, found this amazing dresser for $15!!  It's in relatively good condition, just needs some sanding, new stain and knobs.  I think I'll use it in our new dining room as a sideboard!  Trust me, I'll post some after pictures once I get started on refinishing it!  I think it'll be pretty fabulous!!

Scout Update!

I realized I haven't filled you in on Scout lately!  She's getting so big, she's 8 months old now and still fiesty as ever!

 

Change of Scenery

We are in the process of buying a new house, it's consuming my life!!  Anyways, I have been searching Pinterest high and low of room ideas.  Here's a few of the things I love and MUST use in some way.

 

Love this door, we have the perfect place in our master for this to work. Now I just need my trusty dad to make it for me!

I think this picture ledge is really cool!  I also love how the wall color goes up about 3/4 of the way with 1 color and then changes to another color.
