Ethan helped me tear the pages out of the books, sacrificing only a few to rips. He got bored pretty quickly after that and abandoned me to play Wii! Anyways, here's my initial prototype wreath, it's almost 20" in diameter. I'm going to make an even bigger one to hang in my living room...I'm going to accent the edges of it with orange paint(one of my all time favorite colors!).

The Wreath Project
This weekend I worked on a really cool book page wreath, I saw the idea on a friends page and fell in love! So, I wanted to try it out myself and see if I could make one that looked just as good. I spent most of the day on Saturday working on it, it took almost 5 hours and a lot of burns from the hot glue gun! But, it was worth it!

I'm thinking about making these to sell on my etsy page. Hopefully, it won't take as long now that I have made 1. Anyways, if you'd like to see step by step instructions to try and make your own, click here.

Urban Mining
I went to Urban Mining Housewares last night for the Holiday Preview Sale with my friend Erica. Urban Mining is a really cool vintage market in Westport, it's not a huge place to spend the whole afternoon, but a good size for an evening of shopping with dinner after! I love places like this and can't wait for the next adventure down at the River Market antique mall. It's so fun searching for special gems and seeing great reminders of childhood memories with my family! (There were plenty of these there last night!) Here's just a few interesting things that I saw.....some SUPER creepy and some pretty cool!
I really liked these silhouettes, but I could make them myself very easily and use images of my own family!
This monkey was the creepiest thing in the store, like it would kill you at night!!
My brother, Ben, had one of these banks as a kid. My sister and I used to love stealing it from him and using it ourselves, it just seemed like one of the most amazing things as a child. My mom found his a few years ago and gave it back to him, I think he has it in his room storing all his most precious items!
I was in love with this last one, but figured since I'm married now that I should get the approval of my husband. I think he likes it and I'm dying to go back on Sunday and buy it...(you get 10% off on Sundays!) I'm thinking you could spray paint the pole a bright color and add it to any room in the house! It's just an awesome vintage lamp, the pole goes from floor to ceiling and it's tethered. So cool....

Strangers with Crafts?
I love Amy Sedaris....and I REALLY loved her show Strangers With Candy back when it was on Comedy Central. Now, she has written a book Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People
She's probably one of the funniest people on earth and I can't wait to read this book! In the meantime, I'll settle to read this interview that she did on Etsy.com
Here's a little of advice from Amy Sedaris: If you craft, and you should, craft with abandon and don’t judge your work. It’s the process that’s important, not the final product. Remember, for every person who deems your project crap, there is another person who hasn’t seen it. The only person you have to please is yourself, and what do you know about art?

Ohhh, the memories
While doing my daily Internet surfing, ya know instead of working, I came across this sweet MASH Pad! I was so excited when I saw it, all the childhood memories of playing MASH came sweeping over me. My friends and I used to spend hours upon hours entertaining ourselves with this game...predicting who we would marry and what kind of house we would live in. Do kids even play with paper and pens anymore?!! Anyone want to come over and play...

Eat me, you will
A good friend of mine just so happens to know how crazy I am for Star Wars, especially Yoda, and she brought these absolutely amazing cookie cutters to my attention. They are at Williams-Sonoma, $19.95 a set.....I sure hope they come out with a second edition with R2-D2, Chewbacca, etc. But this set with Yoda has captured my heart. Anyone looking for a great wedding gift to buy me??? Uhhhh, I mean...Brandon and I?? Hint, Hint!!

Breathe on This!
Just ran across a totally fun website: Knock Knock
I've seen some of their stuff in stores, but they have so much more! I'm positive this paper breathalyzer would be a good time!

Wanted: Cool prints for my house
I ran across a totally awesome website today while I was doing a little shopping on Urban Outfitters. They have partnered up with Society 6, an international artist community representing more than 70 countries worldwide. You can go through the art and choose how you want it printed. I think it's pretty dope! Here's a few of my favorites:

Mmmmm, Gravy.
So I have been blogging about my upcoming wedding on my blog: OMG, We're Getting Married when I realized that I have so many crazy thoughts running through my head everyday that I want to share! Usually they are meaningless and funny-stupid, none the less, have nothing to do with my wedding or preparing for it. So, I just decided to launch myself a whole new blog! This title goes out to my pops, go ahead, pour a little of your 40 out for him. He loves gravy and always wants to know where the dessert is located. Thus, Chocolate Gravy:
